A scannable UPI QR and a payment link with the amount pre-filled, ready to share on WhatsApp.

Enter your UPI ID to generate the QR code
The QR and the payment link appear here as soon as the UPI ID looks valid. Nothing is sent to a server — the QR is drawn on this page.

Shares the figure you see above, with a link back to this calculator. Nothing is uploaded.

What goes into the link
Payee address (pa)—
Payee name (pn)not set
Amount (am)not set
Currency (cu)INR
Note (tn)not set
Reference (tr)not set
What this assumes
  • The link uses the standard NPCI upi://pay scheme, so it works with Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, Amazon Pay and every bank app.
  • A UPI ID alone cannot debit anything. The payer still approves inside their own app with a PIN and biometric check.
  • Amounts are capped by the UPI rails and by your bank's own daily limit, typically ₹1 lakh per transaction.
  • Nothing here is verified against NPCI. Confirm the UPI ID by sending a ₹1 test payment before printing a QR for a shop.

About the upi qr code & payment link generator

A UPI QR code is just a `upi://pay` deep link drawn as a square. Any UPI app — Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, your bank's app — can scan it, and the payee ID, name, amount and note are filled in automatically, which removes the two most common causes of a failed transfer: a mistyped ID and a wrong amount.

Enter your VPA (the `yourname@bank` handle), your display name, and optionally an amount and a note. Leave the amount blank and the payer enters it themselves, which is what you want for a shop counter or a donation link; fill it in and the app opens with the figure already locked.

Download the QR as a PNG for printing, or copy the payment link to send by WhatsApp or SMS. The QR is generated entirely in your browser — no UPI ID or amount is ever transmitted to a server.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to use a UPI QR code?

Yes, as long as the code encodes your own UPI ID. A QR is only a payee identifier plus optional amount — it cannot debit your account without the PIN and fingerprint or face check you approve inside your own UPI app.

Which UPI apps will scan this code?

All of them. The code uses the standard NPCI `upi://pay` scheme, which Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, Amazon Pay, CRED, WhatsApp Pay and every bank UPI app understand.

Should I include the amount in the QR code?

Include it when the amount is fixed and known in advance, such as a fee or an invoice. Leave it blank when payers choose what to send, such as a donation box, a tip jar or a collection. A locked amount cannot be edited by the payer.

Is there a limit on a UPI QR payment?

UPI transfers are capped at ₹1 lakh per transaction for most banks and ₹5 lakh for specific categories such as education and hospitals. Your own daily limit is set separately by your bank and is usually ₹1 lakh.

Do I need a merchant account for this?

No. A personal UPI ID works for a QR code and a payment link, with no fee either way. A merchant VPA additionally lets you receive payments through credit cards and gives you settlement reports and a refund flow, which matters if you are running a business.
