About the age & date calculator
Age is more slippery than it looks. Counting years is easy, but counting months and days is not: months have different lengths, and a leap day shifts everything after it. This calculator counts the way people actually mean it — completed years first, then completed months, then the leftover days, which is the same convention hospitals use for an infant's age.
The same arithmetic answers three other everyday questions. How many days until a deadline or between two invoices. What date falls 90 days from now. Whether you have hit the age a form is asking for, as on the day of an exam or an application deadline rather than today.
Everything is computed from your device's clock, and it counts in local time — so a date entered at 11 pm on the 31st behaves the way you would expect, rather than jumping a day because of a timezone conversion.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my exact age in months and days?
Count completed calendar years from your date of birth, then completed months from that anniversary, then the remaining days. Someone born on 15 January 2000 is 26 years, 8 months and 23 days old on 8 October 2026.
Why does my age in days not match years times 365?
Because of leap years and because calendar months are 28 to 31 days long, not a fixed figure. Every year adds about a quarter of a day, so a 26-year-old has lived tens of thousands of days more than 26 × 365 suggests.
Can I use this to count days between two dates?
Yes. Switch to the Difference tab and enter any two dates to get the exact day count, the number of weeks and the remaining days — useful for notice periods, project deadlines, invoice ageing and exam countdowns.
Does the calculator include the start or end day?
It counts elapsed days, so a task from the 1st to the 8th is 7 days. If you need to count both endpoints, as some legal notices do, add one to the result — the Difference tab shows the inclusive count as well.
