Turning a finished presentation into something worth posting
You did the work and now the deck exists. Putting one good slide up afterwards does two useful things: it is a legitimate, low-effort record of the talk for anyone who missed it, and it is the kind of post that brings people to a page you own rather than a feed you do not.
The failure mode is treating the image as a screenshot. Thumbnail-sized text has to be enormous and cut to a single idea — anything that reads fine at full size turns into a grey blur in a feed. One statement, one supporting line, a strong contrast background.
Type a title and one key point above and this page renders a square image you can download and post. It is drawn in your browser, so nothing about your presentation is uploaded or stored.
Worth knowing
- One idea per image. If it needs a comma to summarise, it is two images.
- Keep the text large enough to read as a thumbnail, not on the full-screen image.
- Use the same template for every post from one presentation — it looks intentional.
- Post within a day or two of presenting, while people still remember the topic.
